I am over the moon to share with you that DoggyWarriors has been awarded ‘Points of Light Award’ by Boris Johnson.

Every day the Prime Minister hands out the award to people who are making a change in their community. DoggyWarriors are the 1898th winner to receive the Points of Light Award.

I couldn’t believe it when I received the envelope with 10 Downing Street on it. I couldn’t stop smiling all day. The award acknowledges outstanding people from all walks of life who are making a change in their community, whose actions have changed lives and their stories inspire more people to get involved or start their own initiatives. To receive this recognition is just an amazing honour. I will have it framed and hung on my wall.

In his letter Boris Johnson says, “Those of us who have dogs know how special a part of the family they are and how much joy and companionship they bring to millions of homes across the country, which is why I was inspired to learn of ‘DoggyWarriors’.

Your story of adopting Beautie and raising over £50,000 for 80 rescue centres in the UK is so uplifting. With your initiative, I am hopefully that more dogs will find loving homes which they can call their own.”

The current financial climate makes it even harder for charities to survive. I hope this award will help raise our awareness, so we continue to help the hundreds of rescue centres across the UK.

I dedicate this award to my DoggyWarriors community. This award is as much YOURS as it is mine.
