I’m so excited to announce that DoggyWarriors got the seal of approval from the one and only Theo Paphitis!
On Friday the 25th of February we were presented with our certificate at his Small Business Sunday winners’ event at the ICC in Birmingham where we were joined by 1,000 other small business owners.
It was a magical event. Receiving this recognition from such an influential entrepreneur is so important to a small business like DoggyWarriors. The exposure it offers is unsurpassed and it helps us stand out from the competition. There are hundreds of people in the pet industry making a difference so it’s amazing to have been chosen by Theo.
The event was packed with inspirational speakers. We heard from Rachel Watkyn from Tiny Box Company and Debbie Lewis from NatWest Business. The afternoon was very special as we listened to Theo interview fellow Dragon Den star Touker Suleyman about his road to success and we were all allowed to ask questions after too.
The highlight was definitely receiving my certificate and having my picture taken with Theo. What he does for small businesses is just unreal. The whole event was free to attend and I can even go back now every year.
The event was also a great opportunity to finally meet up with an amazing group of women led pet related business owners who I met through my PR mentor Rachel Spencer. We have formed a great support network to help us through the ups and downs of running a business.
This is the first business event I have attended since COVID and it was definitely one to remember.
A bit about Theo’s SBS awards:
Small Business Sunday is a weekly initiative set up by Theo Paphitis in 2010 and it now has more than 3,500 winners within its supportive community.
Every Sunday between 5pm and 7.30pm small businesses are encouraged to tweet Theo using the hashtag #SBS (now also available on Insta) highlighting their business. Then on the Monday Theo chooses his favourite 6 and retweets them to his 500k followers!
Only 0.8% of all entries make the cut, so how cool is it that DoggyWarriors got Theo’s seal of approval! Let’s hope it helps to raise even more money for dogs in need.
